Episode 49: Bonus – Morning
When I wake up in the morning, Takizawa is right in front of me.
I reckon Takizawa is the kind of person you’d call beautiful.
I can’t see them now, but she has jet-black eyes, eyelashes as long as a horse’s, a well-defined nose, mouth and eyebrows, and black hair that has taken on a bluish tint in the sunlight.
I stroke that black hair.
There’s no sign of her waking up.
I gently trace Takizawa’s lips with my finger.
The thought that these soft lips are always touching mine makes my heart, which until just now I couldn’t even tell was beating, start to thump.
I think Takizawa is sly.
She does things like this, yet she never reveals a single thing about what’s in her heart.
No, I’ve never spoken of my own feelings either, so perhaps we’re the same…
I stretch out and touch Takizawa’s forehead with my lips. I’d really like to kiss her, but I hold back because if Takizawa wakes up, I won’t be able to make any excuses.
I don’t want to move away, but if she finds out I’m doing this, she’ll probably never let me sleep next to her again, so I move away slightly.
Takizawa stirred just at the wrong moment, so in a panic I pretended to be asleep.
Takizawa touched my face, and my heart began beating so fast it felt as though it might burst right out of my chest.
The thought that she might hear it made my heart race even faster, and a strange sweat began to break out.
The next moment, something soft touched my lips.
It felt exactly like what my fingertips had sensed a moment ago. Just as I was wondering why Takizawa would do such a thing, my head started throbbing as if my heart had moved there, making a loud, annoying noise.
I wonder how much time had passed. When enough time had elapsed for it not to seem unnatural, I opened my eyes.
I wondered if this moment would have continued had I kept my eyes closed, and I greeted the morning with a slight regret at having opened them.
